Sample Bread Pudding Recipes

( Bread crumbs should be dry.)

 

Banana Bread Pudding

 

2 cups milk

2 cups bread crumbs

2 cups mashed bananas

1 cup honey

2 eggs, beaten

2 teaspoons cinnamon

3 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 teaspoon banana flavoring

 

Instructions:  Scald the milk.  Remove from heat.  Add the bread crumbs.  Add each ingredient one by one.  Stir well.  Please in a greased pan and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.  Let cool hours before serving.

 

 

Notes:

 

You may also use egg whites only.

 

Banana flavoring can be substituted with vanilla flavoring.

 

Wheat Flakes Cereal Bread Pudding

 

2 cups milk

2 cups bread crumbs

2 cups wheat flakes

½ teaspoon coconut flavoring

2 eggs, beaten

1 cup honey

½ teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon butter

 

Instructions:  Scald the milk.  Remove from heat.  Add the bread crumbs.  Add each ingredient one by one.  Stir well.  Place in a greased pan and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.  Let cool hours before serving.

 

Notes:

 

Butter can be substituted with margarine or soy margarine.

 

Coconut flavoring can be substituted with vanilla flavoring.

 

Wheat flakes can be substituted with corn flakes.

 

Apple And Pineapple Yogurt Bread Pudding

 

1-1/2 cups milk

4 cups bread crumbs

½ cup or 1 -6 ounce container of apple yogurt

½ cup or 1 -6 ounce container of pineapple yogurt

2 eggs, beaten

¼ cup honey

1 teaspoon apple pie spice

1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

1 teaspoon butter

 

Instructions:  Scald the milk.  Remove from heat.  Add bread crumbs.  Add each ingredient one by one.  Stir well.  Place in a greased pan and bake for 1 hour at 325 degrees.  Let cool hours before serving.

 

Notes:

 

There are many other yogurt flavors that can be chosen.

 

Pumpkin pie spice can also be used.

 

 

 

Hot Water In A Pan Method For Baking Bread Pudding

 

   There is also a method whereby a hot water in a pan in used.  Preheat the oven and place a pan of hot water under the shelf that will hold your pan of bread pudding.  This gives the bread pudding a lighter consistency than the recipes above.
